What you need to know before your visit

We are excited to welcome the world back to the beautiful 42-acre Polynesian Cultural Center and are working diligently to establish protective measures for both our guests and staff

COVID-19 WARNING!

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, our other Guests, our Villagers, Students and Staff. You will be required to follow all posted instructions while visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and Guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

Please make sure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place while visiting the Hawaiian Islands. For more information and official government guidelines, visit the State of Hawaii Safe Travels webpage at hawaiicovid19.com/travel/faqs.

Together we can make a difference.

  • WEAR A MASK

Masks are no longer required outdoors except where social distancing of 6 ft’ or more cannot be maintained. Masks are still required in all indoor venues, including buildings and theaters, unless otherwise directed for all guests, ages 5 and up.

Masks that meet Hawaii state government standards are required for all guests, ages 5 and up, at all times throughout the Center, except when seated in a designated dining area while eating

    • Must observe all distancing rules when the facial cover is temporarily removed
    • The following elements are not acceptable coverings and will prevent you from entering the Polynesian Cultural Center:
      • Covering with exhale valves
      • Coverings that include mesh material or holes
      • Costume masks
      • Masks that contain offensive words or graphics
      • Coverings that are not secured around ears or head
      • Coverings that cannot be secured under the chin – no bandanas
    • You are welcome to bring your own face covering, however, masks are available for purchase at Goo’s Plantation Store in the Hukilau Marketplace (may not have all sizes)
  • GROUP SIZE

Parties are asked to gather in groups of no more than 10 inside any enclosed building and no more than 25 outdoors. Each group must maintain 6-foot distance from other groups when masking is not required.

In compliance with mandates and laws instituted by the City and County of Honolulu (Island of Oahu), certain activity is permitted with restrictions.  The Polynesian Cultural Center has studied, planned, and instituted group activities and specific size restrictions accordingly. All large-scale activities have either been modified through a reduction of seating to allow a 6’ space between ‘parties’ of 10 or less for indoor events and 25’ or less for outdoor activities. In some cases we made the difficult decision to close activities that would be difficult to monitor and space, such as the Hawaiian Journey Theater and the Huki Canoe Celebration. The Center continues to exceed expectations in addressing safety and health issues. Your well-being and the well-being of our staff and volunteers will always be our #1 priority.

  • PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Maintain a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) between guests at all times.

Physical distancing, also referred to as social distancing, has been proven to substantially reduce the public spread of the corona virus. Hawaii has demonstrated success through the institution of proven distancing procedures.

The Polynesian Cultural Center has actively addressed physical distancing measures by installing physical separators in enclosed areas, such as our ticketing and food service areas; displaying clear instructions and markers along pathways and redesigning walkways and seating in order to provide comfortable space between guests and staff.

We ask you to join us in these efforts through the following actions:

    • Maintain a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) between guests at all times.
    • Follow all posted signs and ground markings installed throughout the park in order to keep you physical separated in common areas and queues.
    • Cooperate with our efforts to establish limited capacity, modifications or the temporary closure of certain performances or activities and/or venues within the Polynesian Cultural Center and Hukilau Marketplace.
  • ENHANCED CLEANING

Increased cleaning procedures will be maintained throughout the Center. As an extra measure, we have also installed automated hand sanitizing and hand washing stations throughout the grounds

In accordance with established guidelines, the Polynesian Cultural Center has:

    • Increased both the size of our cleaning staff and instituted an aggressive cleaning schedule that satisfies or exceeds state and national requirements.
    • Extra attention is given to high-traffic areas, including handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms, transportation vehicles and more.
    • We have also placed hand sanitizer and hand washing locations throughout the Hukilau Marketplace and the Center

Additionally, hand washing stations will be available throughout the Center. Please, wash or sanitize your hands frequently.
